"I just had to write a letter thanking SoCal Construction. Their company recently finished two different jobs at my home, a master bathroom reconstruction, and replacement of a two deck patio system, including fencing. I have dealt with a variety of construction and landscaping companies in the past......" more
A Brief History:
SoCal Construction & Design’s inception came along when John Thomson and Shane Baker, friends of ten years, decided to move to and serve San Diego County in 2003. With a combined experience of thirty years, they have already made themselves standout within the construction industry.
“ We’re not happy unless they’re happy.”
Shane Baker,36
Partner of SoCal Construction & Design
With a no questions policy, John and Shane leave each project with satisfied customers who will claim their expectations were not only met, but exceeded.
"We’ve heard so many nightmare stories (ranging from poor listening skills to no job completion) involving contractors that we just can’t believe these guys are still in business. I guess that’s really what inspired us to operate the way we do.”
John Thomson, 33,
Partner of SoCal Construction & Design
The Difference:
Most contractors don’t have the time to handle a full day in the field, and then come back to the office and handle the organization and administrative side of the job. This causes time lines to be pushed back, progress payments to be dragged out, project progress slows because money has been spread too thin, which leads to project sloppiness, and ultimately…Client aggravation.
SoCal Construction & Design eliminates this problem by giving our clients two contractors for the price of one. While one contractor is making sure materials are ordered, sub contractors are scheduled, project is on or under budget, and progress time lines are on schedule, another contractor is on site.
Being onsite is important because workers can often get tunnel vision on a project and forget the big picture. The General contractor is there to help workers see all aspects of the building process so the project can move along in an efficient manner. Since the on-site General contractor does not have the administrative side to deal with, his primary focus is the project, this helps to ensure that each of the several quality inspections throughout the various phases of construction are passed the first time.
